Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs canned baked beans original or homestyle
  • 8 slices thick-cut bacon chopped
  • lbs cooked brisket chopped or shredded
  • ½ large onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp kosher salt adjust to taste
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup not pancake syrup
  • ¼ cup BBQ sauce use your favorite
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for sautéing

Instructions
 

  • Sauté your aromatics: In a large cast iron skillet, heat olive oil over medium. Add garlic and onion, cooking until soft and fragrant, about 4–5 minutes.
  • Crisp the bacon: Add chopped bacon to the skillet and cook until golden and crispy. Drain excess grease if needed.
  • Toss in the brisket: Stir in the chopped brisket and let it warm through for a few minutes, allowing it to soak up the flavor base.
  • Add beans and spices: Pour in the baked beans, then season with chili powder, smoked paprika, and salt. Stir everything together.
  • Whisk the sauce: In a bowl, mix the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, BBQ sauce, ketchup, and vinegar. Pour the sauce into the skillet and mix well.
  • Simmer to perfection: Lower the heat and simmer uncovered for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and flavors meld.
  • Serve & enjoy: Serve hot as a side or main. These brisket baked beans are delicious right away and even better the next day!
