Ingredients

  • 1 Vanilla single layer cake
  • 1 Chocolate single layer cake
  • 3 ounces frosting homemade buttercream frosting or store-bought
  • 2 Bags Candy melts any color or flavor or more depending on design
  • Optional: Sprinkles

Instructions

Step 1: Crumble the Cake

  • Crumble the vanilla and chocolate cakes into fine, even crumbs using a large bowl. A uniform texture is key for a smooth cake pop recipe.

Step 2: Mix in the Frosting

  • Add 3 ounces of frosting and mix until the cake mixture resembles soft dough and holds together when rolled.

Step 3: Roll the Cake Pops

  • Roll the mixture into evenly sized balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 4: Chill

  • Refrigerate for 30–45 minutes until firm. Chilling helps this cake pop recipe hold its shape during coating.

Step 5: Coat with Candy Melts

  • Melt the candy melts according to package instructions. Dip each cake ball until fully coated, tapping gently to remove excess.

Step 6: Let Set

  • Allow the coating to set completely before serving or packaging.
