Chocolate Layer
1bag12 oz chocolate chips (milk, dark, or semi-sweet)
1tbspcoconut oil or unsalted butterfor a glossy, smooth finish

Instructions
Prepare the Rice Krispy Base
In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and marshmallows together for about 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. (Alternatively, melt over low heat on the stovetop, stirring continuously.)
Stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
Add the Rice Krispies cereal and mix until well combined.
Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter or coconut oil and evenly press the mixture into the pan. Set aside.
Make the Caramel Layer
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unwrapped caramels and heavy cream.
Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
Stir in sea salt and vanilla extract (if using), then pour over the Rice Krispy layer, spreading evenly.
Let it set for 5-10 minutes to firm up slightly.
Add the Chocolate Layer
In another microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer and spread evenly.
Optional: Sprinkle flaky sea salt and chopped nuts on top for a gourmet finish.
Allow the chocolate to harden at room temperature or place in the refrigerator for about 20-25 minutes.
Slice & Serve
Once fully set, cut into squares or bars and enjoy!
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or in the refrigerator for a firmer texture.
These treats can also be frozen for up to 2 months – simply thaw at room temperature before serving.
