Creamy Cottage Cheese Pasta Sauce

This easy pasta sauce recipe is a great way to add extra protein to your dish!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 handful fresh parsley
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil or a few fresh basil leaves

Instructions
 

Prepare the ingredients:

  • Wash and chop the parsley if using fresh parsley.
  • Mince the garlic.

Blend the sauce:

  • Add the cottage cheese, water, parsley, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and basil to a blender or food processor.
  • Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Adjust the consistency by adding a little more water if needed.

Heat the sauce (optional):

  • If you prefer a warm sauce, transfer the blended mixture to a small saucepan.
  • Heat over low-medium heat, stirring occasionally, until warmed through. Do not boil to prevent curdling.

Serve:

  • Cook your favorite pasta according to package instructions. Drain the pasta and place it in a large mixing bowl.
  • Pour the creamy cottage cheese sauce over the pasta and toss to coat evenly.
  • Serve immediately and garnish with extra parsley or grated Parmesan if desired.
