Ingredients

  • 1 cup Medjool Dates about 14 large dates or 195g, pitted
  • 1/2 cup Creamy Peanut Butter or Almond Butter
  • 3 Tbsp Heavy Cream or coconut cream for a dairy-free version
  • 1/3 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 cup Almond Milk or oat milk
  • 1/4 cup Pure Maple Syrup
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Optional: 1 Tbsp Melted Coconut Oil for extra smoothness

Instructions

  • Soften the Dates – Soak the pitted dates in warm water for 15-20 minutes to soften them, ensuring a smoother blend. This step helps create a creamier consistency without overworking your blender.
  • Blend the Ingredients – In a high-speed blender or food processor, combine the soaked dates, peanut butter, heavy cream, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, maple syrup, and salt.
  • Achieve Creamy Perfection – Blend until smooth and creamy. If needed, add a splash of almond milk to adjust consistency. For extra smoothness, incorporate 1 Tbsp of melted coconut oil.
  • Taste & Adjust – Sample the frosting and adjust sweetness or texture by adding more dates or liquid if necessary.
  • Chill for Best Texture – For a firmer consistency, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before spreading. Chilling also enhances the flavors, making it even more delicious.
  • Store Properly – Keep any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. You can also freeze it for longer storage.
