Gradually add the flour and baking powder, mixing until the dough comes together.
Form the dough into a ball, then flatten slightly with your hand.
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-11 minutes, or until the edges are set but not browned.
Allow the cookies to cool completely before frosting.

Spread a generous layer of frosting over each cookie and top with sprinkles, cinnamon, or your topping of choice.
Let the frosting set for about 15 minutes before serving for the perfect texture.
Notes
Tips for the Best Frosted Soft Sugar Cookies:
Chill the Dough
– If your dough is too soft, refrigerate it for 15-20 minutes before shaping the cookies.
Don’t Overbake
– The cookies should look slightly underbaked in the center when you take them out. They’ll firm up as they cool.
Use Room Temperature Ingredients
– This ensures even mixing and a smoother dough.
Store Properly
– Keep the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for a longer shelf life.
Make Ahead Friendly
– You can prepare the dough in advance and freeze it for easy baking later!
