Preheat & Prep – Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the Dough – Lightly flour a surface and unroll both pie crusts.
Make the Jam Filling – In a small bowl, mix the strawberry jam with the red and black gel food coloring to create a deep, eerie red filling.
Assemble the Base – Place one pie crust onto the lined baking sheet and spread the jam mixture evenly, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges.
Create the Spooky Face – Take the second pie crust and cut out two large circles for eyes, small slits for the nose, and a creepy mouth shape using a knife.
Seal the Pop Tart – Carefully place the cut-out pie crust over the jam-covered base. Press the edges with a fork to seal.
Egg Wash – In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Brush the top of the pop tart with the egg wash for a golden, crisp finish.
Bake – Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Cool & Serve – Let the pop tart cool slightly before serving. If any jam oozes out, it only adds to the spooky, “bloody” effect!
