Instructions
Preheat the Oven – Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 6-inch cake pan or a similar small baking dish.
Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt and egg white.
Add vanilla extract and oil, whisking until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and spices.
Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients using a spatula until a soft dough forms.
Roll Out the Dough:
Lightly flour your counter and roll out the dough into a long rectangle.
Make the Filling:
In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon.
Spread softened butter evenly over the dough using a spatula.
Sprinkle the sugar-cinnamon mixture on top, pressing it into the butter with your hand.
Form the Rolls:
Cut the dough into 4 long strips.
Roll up each strip and place them into the greased pan.
Pour 1 Tbsp heavy whipping cream over the rolls for extra moisture.
Bake:
Place the rolls in the oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until lightly golden.
Make the Frosting – While the rolls are baking, mix powdered sugar and heavy cream until smooth.
Frost and Enjoy – Remove the rolls from the oven and spread the frosting over them while warm. Serve immediately!
Notes
Tips for Success
Don’t overwork the dough
– It should be soft and slightly sticky for the best texture.
Use fresh spices
– The key to bold gingerbread flavor is using fresh ground spices.
For extra gooeyness
– Drizzle with a little extra heavy cream before baking.
Customize Your Frosting
– Add a splash of vanilla or a pinch of cinnamon for extra flavor.
Make It Ahead
– Prep the rolls the night before, store them in the fridge, and bake fresh in the morning.
