Cheesy & Flavor-Packed Mac & Cheese Recipe

Ingredients

– 3 cups macaroni pasta

– 4 tbsp butter

– 3 tbsp all-purpose flour

– 1/2 tbsp paprika

– 1 tsp Cajun seasoning

– Pinch of cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

– 1/2 tsp salt

– 3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

– 1/2 cup shredded Colby Jack cheese

– 1 1/4 cups heavy cream

– 1 cup milk

Instructions

1. Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring water to a boil and cook the macaroni pasta according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside.

2. Make the Cheese Sauce

While the pasta is cooking, prepare the cheese sauce:

1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

2. Once melted, whisk in the flour to create a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes until slightly golden.

3. Gradually pour in the heavy cream and milk, whisking continuously to prevent lumps.

4. Stir in the shredded sharp cheddar and Colby Jack cheeses. Keep stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.

5. Add the paprika, Cajun seasoning, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix well.

3. Combine and Serve

Remove the cheese sauce from heat. Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss until every piece is coated in the creamy cheese sauce.
